Tired.
The is the best description after today. We knew it would be a long day, as we worked to get a young girl who had been trafficked into a safe home for healing. But I never dreamed it would be so full of emotions, prayers, bumpy roads, and odd twists.
Our day included:
- 6345 potholes
- 1345 bumps (Moldova roads have built-in speedbumps)
- Rooster pheasant crossing the road
- Two hour intervention discussions with the girl
- Me getting invited to the mayor's office to celebrate Victory Day
- Me drinking a toast with the veterans (I quickly filled my glass with water, so they wouldn't fill it with vodka)
- Border crossing--even though we never left Moldova
- Another hour intervention discussion--convincing her to stay
- Repeated the pothole experience
- Returning with a sick, pregnant women (the other woman, not Nancy!)
- Praying, praying, and praying
For some reason, no missions class ever covered potholes, goats, squatty potties, strange food, and how to make an official toast at government gatherings.
Oh, for the simple days.....
